BWCAW Travel Permits
Wilderness Outfitters, Inc operates under the US Forest Service jurisdiction in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Superior National Forest. The reservation fee is $6 per travel permit, covering up to 9 people for an entire trip. In addition to the reservation fee, the minimum camping fees collected at the time of reservation will be for $32 (2 adult camping fees). Your group can choose to pay all camping fees upon reservation. We will need a credit card for which these fees will be charged. Any remaining camping fees can be paid upon arrival. Camping fees are $16 per adult, $8 per youth under age 17 and for Interagency pass holders. Seasonal fee cards fulfill the fee requirement for the season but they do not eliminate the need for obtaining a permit. Wilderness Outfitters, Inc charges an $8 permit acquisition fee. All reservation fees are non-refundable. Click here for a complete list of the BWCAW rules and regulations.
Quetico Provincial Park Permits
The Quetico travel permit reservation is $9.50. Camping fees are based on a nightly fee as opposed to the BWCAW’s per trip fee. The rate for adults is $21.50 (Canadian funds) per night and $8.50 (Canadian funds) per youth 17 yrs and under. All fees are subject to Canadian taxes. The Quetico Park requires a deposit of $100.00 toward camping fees at the time of your reservation. A credit card is required to which these fees will be charged. You may pay the remainder of your camping fees with cash, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express credit cards at the Park Ranger Station. Wilderness Outfitters, Inc. charges an $8 permit acquisition fee. All reservation fees are non-refundable.
All persons entering Quetico from the remote southern ranger stations are required to get customs clearance in advance. Clearing customs is done by applying for an RABC (Remote Area Border Crossing) pass. When making your reservation with us we can supply you with these forms. These forms are to be mailed in along with a $30 (Canadian funds) fee per adult or family. Youth groups will be able to list participants under the age of 17 yrs on the adult form at no extra charge. This application can take up to 6 weeks to process, so it must be done well in advance of your trip.
