Located on the western edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW), Trout Lake is one of the few lakes within the wilderness system where limited motor use is allowed. It offers 7,600 acres of excellent fishing for smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, lake trout, crappie and bluegill. With its abundant wildlife and 40 scenic islands, a better place to tent camp would be hard to find.
